Mike Long
NCDIT Agency Chief Information Security Officer

Mike Long joined as NCDIT’s agency chief information security officer in April 2025 and is responsible for strengthening cybersecurity for the department and the state and local agencies it serves.
Long brings more than 15 years of cybersecurity leadership in the federal government and military as well as the energy, consulting and financial services sectors. His breadth of expertise ranges from governance, risk and compliance to incident response and security operations centers testing to improve enterprise security.
A Raleigh native, Long graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Virginia.
