Christine Hoffer, Chief Information Officer, N.C. Office of State Human Resources

Christine (“Chryste”) Hofer has served as the N.C. Department of Information Technology’s chief information officer for the N.C. Office of State Human Resources since April 2022.

She leads OSHR’s HR Data and Information Technology Division and serves as the principal advisor regarding IT strategy, planning, support and IT-related issues. She oversees IT operations and proactively manages the OSHR system portfolio as well as integrations to other state agency systems.

Hofer is leading an effort to consolidate the HR solution portfolio and implement a new Statewide Human Capital Management System which will transform workforce analytics, reduce shadow solutions and streamline HR processing.

Previously, Hofer served with the City of Greensboro for nearly 17 years, becoming the deputy chief information officer and leading digital transformation strategies.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in management information systems from the University of Arizona and is certified as a Master Project Manager by the American Academy of Project Management and Certified Government CIO from the University of Chapel Hill School of Government.
