The AI Accelerator is a cost-free program where state agencies and employees can present AI use cases to develop, test and pilot AI solutions in a safe environment. The program’s goal is to provide an efficient, effective and quick review and design cycle for agencies or employees to explore how AI can solve their use cases.

  • Collaboration: We team up with private sector and university participants to develop solutions. These projects are designed to explore whether existing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can address specific technical and business challenges within the state based on the use cases provided by the state agencies.
  • Innovation: This program allows us to rapidly develop, test and pilot AI tools for the state in a 60-day engagement cycle.
  • Compliance: The AI Accelerator requires those involved to agree to comply with all state laws, rules and policies throughout the process.
  • Fair play: Participating in the AI Accelerator does not give any special status to vendors. For any procurement, all vendors are evaluated on an even playing field, regardless of previous experience with the state. Participation in the AI Accelerator is open to anyone. Agencies that wish to operationalize their AI Accelerator project must follow all procurement laws and regulations.
  • Non-binding: These engagements are exploratory, meaning they do not bind the agency to a specific solution or idea.

The AI Accelerator offers support to agencies with accepted use cases, providing participant assistance, case study development, collaborative solutions and a streamlined procurement process.

  • Cost: The AI Accelerator is no cost to agencies with accepted use cases.
  • Participant support: The AI Accelerator Steering Team works with participants to find the best options to support their use case.
  • Development of case studies: The use cases will be available for other state agencies to view and understand how AI can support their needs.
  • Collaborative approach: The AI Accelerator Steering Team can see all use case submissions and find ways to match similar use cases together for a collaborative process to find a solution.
  • Streamlined procurement process: If the agency would like to procure a solution at the end of an engagement, the AI Accelerator Steering Team can assist by adding all findings and requirements to the procurement process.
