AI Accelerator Internal Intake Form

Submitted by kogardner on

Provide as much detail as possible. These questions are to help the AI Accelerator Team understand the need, impact and feasibility of requests.

Please note that we are only working with publicly available, low-risk data at this time. Any requests involving sensitive, higher risk data will be kept in the backlog until we are prepared to handle such use-cases.

If an intake request is approved to move forward with the AI Accelerator, the agency will be asked to provide the following:

  • Agency CIO approval
  • Personnel to support the AI Accelerator sprint (one technical point of contact and one business point of contact, at a minimum)
  • A member of the agency leadership team to attend weekly status meetings

Note: This intake form is only used by agencies to submit use case ideas to the AI Accelerator. If you are a vendor interested in participating in the AI Accelerator, please contact NCDITAIandPolicy@nc.gov.

Agency
Please describe: (1) what's happening now that's problematic; (2) why it matters to your agency/public; (3) how high of a priority this issue is for your agency; (4) who is affected.
Quantify the scale of this problem (e.g., hours spent per week, money wasted per year, number of frustrated constituents, etc.).
Which of these would indicate success? (Select all that apply.)
For example: $1.2 million in savings annually; 20 hours per week saved for 5 employees; reduced constituent interaction time from 1 hour to 15 minutes per interaction
What is the impact/reach of solving this problem?
Do you have data available to develop an AI solution and test it?
I confirm that this project will only be using publicly available or "low risk" data.
The AI Accelerator will only be using publicly available data in the initial phase. If you plan on using sensitive data, or any data that is not publicly available, please select "No" and we will keep your responses until we are prepared to handle use cases with sensitive data. For more information, please refer to the Statewide Data Classification and Handling Policy.
Provide as much detail as possible (e.g., numerical, free form text, structured text, images, videos, etc.). Include any links to datasets, where available.
For example: 5 years of records, 10,000 transactions
If no, leave blank.
Will this AI system make or significantly influence decisions that affect people's rights, benefits or access to services?
This can include potential for risks of the AI being wrong, risks of misuse, legal issues, negative perceptions, unfairness or bias and more. (It may help to think about potential media headlines that could arise from this project.)
What level of executive support do you have?
This question is for testing whether or not you are a human
