<p>Lenovo has brought on 12 students as paid interns who will work at the company this summer, kicking off a partnership that will be offered on a semester basis.</p>

<p>Governor Cooper&rsquo;s Common Ground Solutions budget included $20 million to improve internet access and service to households and businesses in underserved areas of North Carolina. Of that $20 million, $14.5 million would create a grant program to help local governments partnering with private providers and utility cooperatives complete &lsquo;last mile&rsquo; broadband projects.</p>

<p><span>The North Carolina Department of Information Technology issued the following statement regarding the AT&amp;T outage that occurred late this morning.</span></p>

<p>The Appalachian Regional Commission is awarding a total of $272,000 to 10 western North Carolina communities that plan to offer free Wi-Fi access in their downtown areas.</p>

<p>The results revealed that North Carolina greatly improved its grade, climbing a full letter grade from a C+ to a B+, which is the highest the state has received since grading began. Additionally, North Carolina was recognized as number five in the country for exemplary work in Citizen Engagement.</p>

<p>The Innovation Awards were launched to recognize the excellent work being done to make government more effective, efficient and user-friendly for the citizens of North Carolina.</p>
