Statewide IT Procurement Rules Review
The N.C. Department of Information Technology’s existing IT procurement rules are located in 09 NCAC 06A and 09 NCAC 06B within the N.C. Administrative Code.
N.C.G.S. 150B-21.3A requires state agencies to review existing rules every 10 years. NCDIT's review of its existing rules, contained in a report, will be reviewed by the Rules Review Commission at its February 2025 meeting.
In this report, NCDIT is required to evaluate each of the existing rules and make an initial determination from one of these two classifications:
Classification | Description |
---|---|
Necessary | Means any rule other than an unnecessary rule |
Unnecessary | Means a rule that the agency determines to be obsolete, redundant or otherwise not needed |
Public Comment
NCDIT is seeking public comment on the initial determinations and its existing rules.
“Public comment” is defined in N.C.G.S. 150B-21.3A(a)(5) as written comments objecting to the rule, in whole or in part, or objecting to the initial determination of the rule as necessary or unnecessary.
Further, in order for the Rules Review Commission to determine whether the public comment has merit, the comment must address the specific substance of the rule.
The comment period begins Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, and ends Friday, Jan. 3, 2025.
Please specify the rule citation (e.g., 09 NCAC 06B .0101) for which you are submitting comment.
