Reset NCID Password or Unlock Account
Locked out of your NCID account or forgot your password?
You can use your mobile or desktop device to reset your NCID password or unlock your NCID account at any time. Please note, however, that all NCID accounts that are locked automatically unlock after 30 minutes.
To get started, choose the set of instructions below that apply to you.
Resetting Your Password
- On your desktop or mobile device, visit the Account Recovery Options page for individual and business NCID user accounts.
- Click on the Forgot Password link.
- Enter your registered NCID username, and then click on the Send Request button.
- Check your email for a link to reset your password.

Unlocking Your Account
Please note that all locked NCID accounts automatically unlock after 30 minutes. To unlock your account sooner, follow these instructions to receive a one-time password.
- On your desktop or mobile device, visit the Account Recovery Options page for individual and business NCID user accounts.
- Click on the Unlock Account link.
- Enter your registered NCID username, and then click on the Get OTP button.
- Check your email for a one-time password, which expires after 10 minutes.
- On your desktop or mobile device, go to the NCID Portal.
- Select the link beneath the NCID Login button that you need:
• Forgot Password
• Unlock Account - Enter your username and follow the prompts.
