Department of Information Technology offers training in process improvement aims and approaches and runs a community of practice to understand what process improvement is. Lean Sigma Training and Certification NCDIT's Lean Sigma Yellow Belt course is a one-day introduction to the Lean Sigma process improvement methodology. Participants learn about common Lean Sigma concepts and tools to make processes more efficient and effective: Basic data charting 5 whys Cause and effect matrix (fishbone matrix) Impact/effort grid Value-added vs. non-value-added analysis of the eight types of waste Process mapping Standard work 5s This training is intended for process subject matter experts, but individuals in all levels of the organization can benefit from it.
