When to Use a Request for Proposal Lite Form

Request for Proposal Lite Form Made Simple

A Request for Proposal Lite form is used by North Carolina state agencies to procure software, software support and/or professional services. It can also be used to procure smaller systems that include evaluation criteria.

Use an RFP Lite form when:

  • The specifications of the software, support and/or required professional services are generally known.
  • The value of the IT procurement is over the advertising threshold.
  • Competition is available.

An RFP Lite can incorporate evaluation criteria using the best value method for source selection. It is not an award for a low price that meets specifications.

To ensure you are using the latest version of the RFP Lite form, visit IT Procurement Forms & Templates on the Statewide IT Procurement website.
