Rocco DiSanto

Appointed to the Information Technology Strategy Board by N.C. Speaker of the House Tim Moore, Dr. Rocco F. DiSanto brings a wealth of professional experience from a 40-year career spanning the fields of biomedical engineering, clinical care delivery, industrial manufacturing, telecommunications, photonics, fiber optics, data center and related systems engineering.

DiSanto is the founder of a number of technology start-ups in North Carolina, including BroadPlex, LLC, a fiber optic telecommunications service provider. When acquired in 2016, BroadPlex had grown to be the largest privately owned and funded fiber network in North Carolina. Its network infrastructure serves health care, education, government and enterprise clients, including more than a quarter million K-12 students and teachers and several Fortune 100 corporate data centers. 

DiSanto is a graduate of Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering and earned a doctorate in dental surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Dentistry.
