About the AI Enterprise Literacy Program
Improving AI literacy across our workforce is now essential to how we deliver services, communicate clearly, and make informed decisions. To support that statewide capability, NCDIT is launching the AI Enterprise Literacy Pilot.
This effort will provide governed access to Google’s Gemini Enterprise platform in a secure, state-safe environment for nine months.
Employees will build practical, transferable AI skills they can carry into any modern tool or platform. Additionally, they will:
- Learn how to rapidly review and validate documents
- Conduct research with AI‑supported analysis
- Synthesize information from multiple data sources into clear summaries and visualizations
- Gain experience applying responsible‑use practices.
These competencies are deliberately designed to be platform‑agnostic so that employees strengthen capabilities that remain relevant as the state’s AI ecosystem continues to evolve.
Why This Matters
Gemini and Copilot will serve as our two enterprise AI platforms, while NCDIT works to establish a state‑level contract for secure access to other AI solutions through the IT procurement process. We are issuing a Request for Proposal specifically to support these efforts and create this contract.
This pilot will allow us to assess value, adoption rates, security issues, and long-term needs for AI across state agencies. Your involvement will have a direct impact on the state's future AI strategy.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and participation as we move forward to build a modern, AI‑ready government. We look forward to providing more updates and training opportunities soon.
