The North Carolina Department of Information Technology issued the following statement regarding the AT&T outage that occurred late this morning:

“At approximately 11:15 a.m. today, AT&T experienced an outage that is affecting multiple states and companies throughout the country, including North Carolina’s government phone systems,” said Acting Secretary and State Chief Information Officer Danny Lineberry. “Our team has been in constant communication with AT&T throughout the day and we will continue monitoring the situation closely. AT&T is working diligently to determine the root cause of the outage. We understand that this may be affecting our citizens’ ability to conduct business with state government. Until the situation is resolved, we recommend North Carolinians to utilize agency websites, email and social media to contact the State so that we can continue to best serve your needs.”
