Team Members Volunteer to Clean Roads, Refurbish Computers and Build Homes

NCDIT team members love volunteering to give back to our local communities.

Members of the Enterprise Data Office volunteered for roadside cleanup in Wake Forest on Friday, May 9. They picked up three bags of trash along 2 miles of Gilcrest Farm Road. Valerie Williams, provider relations specialist at the N.C. Health Information Exchange Authority, led and organized this effort.

N.C. 911 Board staff and NCDIT Secretary Teena Piccione joined together to volunteer on Friday, May 16, at Kramden Institute, a nonprofit association in Durham that provides technology tools and training to bridge the digital divide. They refurbished donated computers that will be distributed to North Carolinians who need them.

Seven members of NCDIT’s Enterprise Data Office volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County on June 20 to help build five townhomes in the Old Poole Place community in Raleigh. They completed a wide range of projects, from caulking and picking up metal litter to stapling sill plate gaskets and moving pallets of plywood among construction sites.
