Hiring ranges reflect the minimum and maximum pay rates for a particular position. Starting salaries above the minimum are based on relevant experience, training, labor market considerations and maintenance of internal salary equity.

Internships

- Applications for fall/winter internships will open later during summer 2025.
NCDIT's paid internship programs provide a variety of learning opportunities for high school and college students as well as those seeking to enter the technology field. Interns gain real-world work experience across work divisions, contribute to day-to-day operations and connect with diverse people and communities.
Interns are paid $20 per hour, and most positions are eligible for remote work. Internships are available in the summer and throughout the year. Preference will be given to candidates who either reside in North Carolina or are within a three-hour commute to the duty station assigned for the internship.

- Historically Black Colleges and Universities (Students at HBCUs; preference given to HBCUs in North Carolina, but HBCUs outside the state will be considered)

- Workforce Diversity (Individuals who are pursuing or have technology-related college education and experience)
NCDIT also offers internships through the North Carolina State Government Internship Program.
