Governor Pat McCrory’s commitment to make doing business with the state more cost-effective and consumer-friendly was on display Friday at North Carolina’s Innovation Center (iCenter) in downtown Raleigh.  The North Carolina Department of Information Technology’s Digital Services team held its monthly “Tech Talk” session, which allows state employees to interact with private sector information technology (IT) experts and then apply what they learn to their everyday work.

“These Tech Talks are the kind of events we want to see happening on a regular basis,” said State Chief Information Officer Keith Werner. “Sessions like this provide state IT employees the opportunity to collaborate and innovate with other experts in their field, all with the end goal of transforming the way state government delivers products and services. These events are held at the iCenter, which is a setting that provides the perfect environment for collaboration and problem-solving.”

This month’s Tech Talk focused on how the state is working to improve online interactions with businesses and consumers. The featured speakers were Accenture consultants working with the North Carolina Department of Administration to make vendor registration easy for businesses.
