On April 16, NCDIT hosted students from Culbreth Middle School and the Student AI Task Force at Granville Central Middle School for a Students@Work event, in partnership with the North Carolina Business Committee for Education.
The students toured our Raleigh facility and took part in an "Hour of AI" activity. They heard about careers in public service from staff in areas including AI, innovation, user experience, and data centers.
Chastan Swain, director of strategic partnerships and programs, moderated a panel on career paths and opportunities with communications specialist Meribel Briggs, AI solutions architect Luke Ertzberger, recruitment manager Katawna Flood, and employee user experience designer Dawnna Lewis.
Events like this reflect NCDIT's commitment to building a talent pipeline and showing young North Carolinians that a career in technology and public service is within reach.
