NCDIT Human Resources recruiter Samika Lewis made a strong impression with students and job-seekers at the Forsyth Technical Community College Business and IT Career Fair on April 8.
“The career fair at Forsyth Tech was a great event,” Samika said. “The participants were very engaged and showed their genuine interest in wanting to work at NCDIT.”
In voting for awards for the 15 employers at the career fair, Forsyth Tech students gave Samika and NCDIT top honors in four of five categories: first place in Students' Choice (Best All Around) and the "Future Me Works Here" Award, tied for first in Best Swag Giveaway, and second place for Best Booth Decor.
“The Future Me Works Here event, sponsored by Forsyth Technical Community College, provided an excellent platform for NCDIT to showcase the wide range of career opportunities available for individuals entering the IT field,” HR Recruitment Manager Katawna Flood said. “We also promoted the value of pursuing a civil service career path.”
Our HR team’s outreach at this event reflects our ongoing commitment to creating early-career opportunities. As demand for technology talent continues to grow, engaging students at the community college level ensures that NCDIT helps cultivate the next generation of public-sector IT professionals.
