Debora Chance, state IT business continuity management program manager with NCDIT’s Enterprise Security and Risk Management Office, received the Margaret J. Bailey Public Manager Award, the highest recognition bestowed by the N.C. Society of Certified Public Managers, during its annual meeting on Dec. 10.
The award recognizes exceptional professionalism and leadership in state and local government, honoring individuals who uphold high moral standards and advance the society’s mission of excellence in public service.
“To serve others is the highest calling of public leadership,” Debora said. “I am humbled to receive this award from the NCSCPM and grateful for the society’s enduring commitment to fostering excellence across our state’s public sector.”
Debora earned her Certified Public Manager designation in 2016 and has been an active contributor to the society ever since, previously serving as treasurer and now as a board member. This award highlights her dedication to promoting professionalism and strengthening public management across North Carolina.
