With a deep-rooted military tradition, North Carolina stands as a proud home to the fourth-largest military presence in the nation. The state hosts more than 120,000 active-duty service members and is home to more than 680,000 veterans.
Governor Josh Stein has emphasized the importance of making North Carolina the most welcoming state in the nation for military families, both during and after their service. At NCDIT that commitment is more than words, it’s part of our mission.
We recognize the value military members, veterans and military spouses bring to the workforce, and we’re dedicated to creating pathways that help them thrive in civilian careers. Many of the qualities developed through military service, such as resilience, leadership and a strong sense of purpose, align naturally with our work in public service and technology. For those looking to continue making a difference, NCDIT offers a place to do just that, contributing to projects that improve lives across the state.
NCDIT offers a dynamic environment where employees explore emerging technologies and develop systems that power essential services for residents, businesses and visitors.
Examples of these services include:
• Broadband access and digital opportunity

NCDIT is proud to help past and present military personnel and their spouses open doors to meaningful careers. The benefits and opportunities we offer include:
• Hiring preference for qualified individuals
