Statewide IT Procurement Office Earns National Recognition for Excellence

We’re proud to announce that the Statewide IT Procurement Office has received the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® award from the National Procurement Institute.

This national honor recognizes public agencies that demonstrate outstanding performance in areas such as innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership and e-Procurement. It is a mark of distinction in the public procurement field.

The Statewide IT Procurement Office was one of only seven state or provincial agencies among 216 total recipients, which also included:

  • 85 cities
  • 48 counties
  • 26 school districts
  • 23 special districts
  • 15 higher education institutions

“This is a significant recognition within the public procurement profession, highlighting organizations that go beyond meeting minimum requirements and embrace innovative solutions,” Chief IT Procurement Officer James Tanzosch said. “This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first time NCDIT has received the award.”

Building on this momentum, NCDIT is now focused on a bold new goal: completing statewide IT procurements within 90 days. This initiative will help agencies more efficiently access the tools and technologies they need to better serve the people of North Carolina.
