In February, the N.C. Department of Information Technology raised the IT purchasing authorization to $100,000 cumulatively, to coincide with that allowed by the N.C. Department of Administration.
This means that agencies only need to seek authorization from the Statewide IT Procurement Office if the IT procurement is more than $100,000 over the period of the contract.
Agencies must still follow the exemption guidelines established by their internal IT procurement policy and procedures that align with the North Carolina IT procurement rules and statutes. This includes documenting NCDIT’s project management, security, privacy and legal reviews in the eProcurement tool’s 10-step IT procurement process.
