Clarifying the Difference Between the NC eProcurement and eVP Systems

The NC eProcurement and Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP) are different systems.

Agencies use the NC eProcurement system, also known as Ariba, to create sourcing projects associated with their IT procurement. Vendors use it to respond to solicitations.

The eVP system is the bridge between them. It is like a bulletin board where anyone can learn about the state’s solicitation opportunities.

Once a sourcing project is published in the NC eProcurement system, the event details are automatically sent to the eVP system to inform the public bidding audience.

Vendors that are interested in bidding must first log into their eVP account and indicate interest in that solicitation by clicking the “Intends to Participate” button.

If the solicitation is managed in the NC eProcurement system, the response button will read “Intends to Participate.”

When a vendor clicks the button, all sourcing contacts on the eVP account will receive an email with a link to the sourcing event. Within 15 minutes, the vendor’s Ariba account will get an email letting them know they can log into the NC eProcurement system to see the event and respond.
