Cabling infrastructures provided with this service enable the transport of data, voice, and video over various copper and fiber optic media for government organizations, ranging from typical office/cubicle environments to data centers to interconnection of buildings in campus environments. SCS provides a comprehensive approach to ensure a high quality, standards-based cabling infrastructure in adherence with the State of North Carolina's STS1000 Telecommunications Wiring Guidelines and TIA/EIA (Telecommunications Industry Association/Electronics Industry Alliance) Telecommunications Building Wiring Standards. Structured Cabling Services consists of a team of BICSI RCDD (Building Industry Consulting Service International, Registered Communications Distribution Designer) professionals dedicated to providing the best solutions and services to fit each customer's unique needs. Current customers include: State executive branch agencies County, city and local governments Community colleges Universities K-12 public schools Depending on the size and scope of your cabling needs, projects can fall into the following categories: CISP - Convenience Inside Plant Projects Utilize fixed unit prices based on the type of cables, termination methods, cable media and other factors. This projects are typically small and depend on customers' needs. COSP - Convenience Outside Plant Projects Utilize fixed unit prices based on in ground or aerial components, such as trenching, vibratory plowing, directional drilling and the types of cables, termination methods and cable media. This projects typically are small and depend on customer needs. BISP - Bid Inside Plant Projects Consist of larger inside plant projects with complex cabling solutions for inside plant installations or data centers. After detailed consultations with the customer, these types of projects are individually bid using SCS pre-qualified vendors. Once requirements are documented, securing a custom bid may take as little as three weeks, including a detailed walkthrough with pre-qualified vendors. BOSP - Bid Outside Plant Projects Consist of larger outside plant projects that contain in-ground or aerial components such as trenching, vibratory plowing, directional drilling and the types of cables, termination methods and cable media. This projects typically are complex. After detailed consultations with the customer, these types of projects are individually bid using SCS pre-qualified vendors. Once requirements are documented, securing a custom bid may take as little as three weeks, including a detailed walkthrough with pre-qualified vendors. Design/Consulting Services Consist of a billable rate per hour, available for RFP and scope of work reviews, creating design specifications, performing project management and inspections and providing expertise in inside plant and outside plant design, wireless and fiber redundancy.
