North Carolina Government Data Analytics Center (GDAC)

The integration of analytics into agency business decisions and enterprise IT strategy, along with a focus on data management, governance, and data security, are the fundamental focus of the North Carolina Government Data Analytics Center (GDAC).

The GDAC supports data sharing between State agencies, the development of enterprise solutions and identification of cost savings through fraud and compliance initiatives. These efforts are critical to providing quick, agile, and consistent data content to meet the State’s business needs. The GDAC also manages enterprise program activities and the development and support of data analytics systems. These include the North Carolina Financial Accountability and Compliance Technology System (NC FACTS) fraud, waste and improper payment detection program, the Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Automated Data Services (CJLEADS) criminal justice data integration system, North Carolina Early Childhood Integrated Data System (NC ECIDS) and numerous other reporting and analytics efforts.

Current GDAC collaborations include the North Carolina Department of Commerce – Division of Employment Security; the Office of the State Treasurer – State Health Plan; the Office of the State Controller; the Departments of Revenue, Health and Human Services, and Public Instruction; and the Industrial Commission.

The GDAC is growing as opportunities to assist government entities with data sharing and analytics are identified, and as analytics become a critical operational support tool for many agencies.
