This is NC DIT

The Department of Information Technology is North Carolina’s leading provider of IT services to state agencies, local governments, and educational institutions across North Carolina. We manage and secure communication for the state through telephony systems, networking, cybersecurity and risk management, email and hosting services. We administer and protect the state’s data, and we manage the state’s technological resources for productivity and efficiency, offering 24/7 support to offices statewide.

NC DIT also oversees several important agencies and boards for the citizens of North Carolina:

911 Board

The North Carolina 911 Board is responsible for both wireline and wireless 911 communications in the state, as well as related policies and procedures. It also administers the state’s 911 Fund.

Broadband Infrastructure Office

The Broadband Infrastructure Office is the statewide resource for broadband access, first responder communications and classroom connectivity initiatives led by the State of North Carolina. BIO works to expand broadband access to underserved communities and wi-fi access to every classroom in the state.

CJLEADS

NC DIT’s Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Automated Data Services is a secure, centralized database of comprehensive, up-to-date information about offenders for use by state and local government criminal justice professionals. This critical data helps reduce risk and increases safety in our communities.

Digital Commons

The state employees at Digital Commons deliver a citizen-focused, cost effective, and efficient digital platform for every state department and agency to use, resulting in a more consistent and intuitive experience for North Carolina citizens.

GDAC

The Government Data Analytics Center manages data sharing and integration initiatives by state agencies, institutions and departments. The GDAC also supports CJLEADS, the NC Financial Accountability and Compliance Technology System (NC FACTS), and GDAC reporting and analytics.

NC HIEA

North Carolina’s Health Information Exchange Authority operates the state’s health information exchange, a secure electronic system in which health care providers can share important patient health information. This results in safer and better health care for patients, and better access and analysis of health information.

iCenter

The Innovation Center is a state center for testing digital and mobile technology in a “try before you buy” lab, as well as a comfortable but high-tech meeting space for state agencies. Its staff works to make interacting with government as simple and cost-effective as checking scores or shopping with a smart phone. The iCenter was recognized as a 2015 “Bright Idea” by the Ash Center at Harvard University, a program that recognizes creative initiatives that are at the forefront of government innovation.
