Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Vendor Relations
Raymond Johnson serves as DIT’s Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Vendor Relations. In this role, he focuses on the modernization of both supplemental staffing and the Department’s contract and vendor management processes and practices throughout the state of North Carolina. Prior to his current position, Raymond served as Director of Statewide Strategic Sourcing for DIT, where he led the transformation of the State’s Procurement office to a Statewide IT strategic sourcing operation.
Before working for state government, Raymond had an extensive career in the private sector where he successfully managed large geographic sales territories and led sales and system engineering teams that were consistently recognized company-wide as top performers. His 34-year career has also included managing third party vendor network communities and developing plans to achieve year-on-year growth for Fortune 500 companies like Hitachi and IBM.
Raymond received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Clark Atlanta University and a Master of Business Administration from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University. In addition, Raymond serves on the North Carolina Technology Association’s (NCTA) Board of Advisors.
