U.S. Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency

A cybersecurity advisor within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency, Dom Rivera is assigned to Region 4, which is comprised of eight states – North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

In his role as a cybersecurity advisor, Rivera assists critical infrastructure owners and operators to make improvements to their cybersecurity posture.  He also works with members of all 16 critical infrastructure sectors. 

Prior to joining the Department of Homeland Security, Rivera served as an information security consultant and as a cybersecurity attorney for Fortune 500 companies in the software and banking sectors as well as the U.S. Department of the Navy.  

Rivera has also qualified as an expert witness in legal cases related to cybersecurity and computer forensics and was a member of a cyber law firm.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering, a Master of Science in information technology, and a Juris Doctor.
