Enterprise Service Bus

Business Need

Today's application portfolios are now hybrid, as both public and private organizations must integrate multicloud environments with their on-premise applications. But for many agencies, integrating on-premise practices with multi-cloud applications is slow and expensive, requiring dedicated, specialized skills. Most agencies find that their existing approaches are just not delivering quickly enough to meet new challenges. For agencies that never established regular integration practices, the prospect of starting now is daunting. The large up-front costs, lack of available skills, long delivery times and complex infrastructure builds associated with traditional on-premises approaches are not in line with today's lean approaches and timelines.

The DIT Enterprise Service Bus (EBS) provides a low-cost and user-friendly integration platform to simplify the effort required to effectively manage a portfolito of data exchanges within your organiztion.

Service Description

The Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Service is delivered leveraging Dell's Boomi integration platform with DIT services supporting the platform, managing product licenses, supporting governance and administration as well as customer onboarding and success.

Benefits

  • Freed from hard coding or proprietary systems that only experienced specialists can master, Boomi's modern browser-based development environment makes it possible for teams working from any location to connect applications in hours and days rather than weeks or months. And with a configuration-based development process, integration work isn’t limited to specialists.
  • A modern integration platform equipped with an intuitive low-code development environment brings unprecedented implementation speed to your work. Projects that once took months or years are now completed in days or even hours. And as a native-cloud platform, the ESB supports SaaS applications and other cloud-based technologies while equally supporting existing on-premise systems.
  • A modern cloud-based integration platform eliminates the need for any on-premise equipment to support SaaS applications and only requires installation of a lightweight run-time engine for on-premise applications. ESB completely eliminates the need to create and maintain multiple instances to support distributed operations.
  • With the ESB there is almost no software or hardware to maintain, only a lightweight run-time engine for managing on-premise connections. The centralized “single pane of glass” view across your interconnected applications and data makes it simple for your staff to monitor and maintain integrations.
  • Rather than installing and maintaining on-premise systems, modern ESB platform relieves IT teams of this burden with a hosted service model. The platform runs from the cloud, allowing your staff to focus on connecting your applications rather than on maintaining data center infrastructure.
  • By moving to a single-instance, multi-tenant ESB, upgrades to the integration platform are managed and guaranteed by the vendor. And with thousands of customers using the same platform, regression testing is incredibly comprehensive, making it easy for the vendor to quickly identify and fix bugs or other issues long before any updates reach production environments.
  • An ESB runs a single-instance platform and development environment that provides full control and visibility across global operations to ensure the right access, at the right time, for the right roles. And with a common view of all applications, data, and their workflows, it is easy for teams to share information and collaborate on development efforts.
