State Chief Information Officer Chris Estes has been selected to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO).  During the recent NASCIO 2015 Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, Estes was elected by his peers to serve a two-year term and will work alongside national leaders in state information technology.

“I’m honored to have been selected and look forward to helping set the strategic direction of this very valuable organization,” Estes said. “This is also an opportunity to learn what other states are doing in the area of information technology, and to share the exciting and innovative work that we’re doing in North Carolina under Governor McCrory’s leadership.”

Founded in 1969, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 association representing state chief information officers and information technology executives and managers from the states, territories, and the District of Columbia. The primary state members are senior officials from state government who have executive-level and statewide responsibility for information technology leadership.  NASCIO’s mission is to foster government excellence through quality business practices, information management, and technology policy.
